It is important to look at the patient’s nutritional status by checking his or her BMI and blood tests. Take ankle / arm index if the patient has pressure ulcers in the lower extremities. Where there are clear signs of infection, take a swab of the wound. X-rays will be taken if there is suspicion of osteomyelitis.
