8.4.2 Examining the patient
It is important to look at the patient’s nutritional status by checking his or her BMI and blood tests. Take ankle / arm index if the patient has pressure ulcers in the lower extremities. Where there are clear signs of infection, take a swab of the wound. X-rays will be taken if there is suspicion of osteomyelitis. It is important to look at what the underlying cause of the pressure ulcer can be, so that we can effectively treat the patient.
